Obverse
On the obverse of all American Gold Eagle coins is the iconic image of Lady Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. She is depicted striding forward with confidence, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, symbolizing enlightenment and peace.
The obverse of the 1/4 oz gold coin includes the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and the year of issue, along with the Capitol building visible in the background, reinforcing its strong American identity.
Reverse
The reverse features a detailed portrait of a bald eagle, introduced as part of the updated design in 2021. The eagle, a symbol of strength, freedom, and national pride, is shown in a close-up profile with exceptional detail.
The reverse also displays the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” as well as the coin’s weight and face value “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD • 10 DOLLARS.”
